Our next First Thursday social networking event will be November 6, 2025 at La Brasserie—Urban Winery, 31 S. Willson, 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. As always, the first $100.00 is hosted by GCBA for this members networking event. To ensure appropriate space and coordinate with our gracious host RSVP is required. Clerk of Gallatin Co. Justice Court takes new position as Bozeman Municipal Court Administrator
Miranda Johnson, longtime Clerk of Justice Court for Gallatin County has taken a new position as the Bozeman Municipal Court Administrator. Miranda’s last day at the Justice Court will be October 10 and her first day at the Municipal Court will be October 15. Please join me in thanking Miranda for her years of dedicated public service and wish her well in her continued service and new position.
GCBA dues are due October 31 for 2025-2026
Membership dues are due October 31 for the upcoming dues year. You can make payment of dues through the Membership page on the website. Be sure to enter the attorney’s name and the attorneys’ email address as “buyer” on the form. If you set your membership to auto renew last period, your payment method on file with the payment processor will be charged on October 31. Current members have each received emails informing them about their membership renewal or auto renewal from our payment processor and from GCBA with further instructions. Lana Steven will break down how federal leave and accommodation laws (FMLA, ADA, PWFA) intersect with Montana’s unique legal requirements. Hon. Chief Justice Cory Swanson and Court Administrator Dave McAlpin will provide updates on Supreme Court practice and procedure, along with broader insights relevant to all Montana attorneys.
